Tamil Remix

Remix songs are gradually proping up in Tamil music. Remix songs are very good hit in Hindi, where lot of albums are released. In Tamil, music is still limited to film. Albums couldn't find a good market. But recently some movies have Remix songs in them. We cannot expect many Remix songs in movies, as the music director may not be willing to give many remix, as he may fear that people may criticize his originality. In Remix the tune is kept as it is and the accompanying music is varied to the present trend. Lot of creativity can be shown in this too.
To list the Remix songs,
1) Asai Nooru vagai-Yuvan Shankar Raja-Kurumbu. I consider this as the break through remix song in Tamil. Good job by Yuvan, with some rap, starting the song with some Chennai tamil. But in this, the original song sung by Malaysia Vasudevan is kept as it is and new funky music is added over it.
2) Thulluvathu ilamai - Vijay Antony - Sukiran. Good effort
3) Engeyum Eppothum - Deva - Cleaopatra. Good work by Deva, good recording , I like this one very much. Deva's talents were always under estimated. He has given a superb remix of the good old song. Nice song selection. A perfect song for Remix. Sung by female boosts the effect.
4) Ado antha paravai pola -Dheena - Madarasi- not so impressive
5) Kadhal vanthudichi - YSR - Vallavan. Nice one sung by Simbu. YSR style of music is very good for Remix, but he hasn't done much in this.
6) Thottal Poo malarum - ARR- New. Though this is accepted as a Remix, I couldn't accept this one full heartedly as a Remix, as the tune has been changed for the same lyrics.
7) Thiruttu payale - Bharadwaj- Thiruttu Payale. This is the reverse of Thottal poo malarum. The tune kept as it is and the lyrics changed. Can be accepted more than that. Nice work by Bharadwaj.

சமிப காலமாக தமிழ் திரையிசையில் Remix பாடல்கள் மெல்ல தலைத்தூக்குகின்றன. ஹிந்தியில் Remix பாடல்களுக்கு நல்ல வரவெற்பு, பல Albumகள் வெளியாகின்றன. தமிழியில் இசை இன்றும் திரையிசை அளவில் தான் உள்ளது. Albumகள் நல்ல market பிடிக்கவில்லை. திரையிசையில் நிறைய Remix பாடல்கள் எதிர்பார்க்க முடியாது. காரணம், இசையமைபாளர்கள் தன் originalityயை தான் காண்பிக்க முயலுவார்கள். பழைய பாடலை copy அடிக்கிறார் என்று மக்கள் சொல்வார்கள் என்று என்னக்கூடும். பொதுவாக, Remixயில் பாடலின் ராகம் மாற்றப் படாமல் வாதிய இசைகளை மட்டும் தற்போதைய காலதிற்கு ஏற்றார்போல் அமைக்கபடும். இதிலும் தன் creativityயை நன்கு காண்பிக்க முடியும்.
1. தமிழ் திரையிசையில் முதல் Remix 'குறும்பு' படதில், ஆசை நூறு வகை பாடல் என்று நினைக்கிறேன். Remixக்கு மிகவும் ஏற்ற பாடல். யுவன் அருமையாக கொடுத்து இருகிறார். Rapயில் ஆரம்பித்து, சென்னைத் தமிழ் பெசி பாடல் நன்கு அமைந்துள்ளது. இதில் பழைய மலேசிய வாசுதேவன் பாடிய பாடல் அப்படியே வைத்து அதன் மேல் புதிய இசை கொடுக்கபட்டுள்ளது. பாடல் மீண்டும் பாட படவில்லை. இதுவும் நல்ல முயற்சி.
2. சுக்கிரன் படத்தின் 'துள்ளுவதோ இளமை' யும் ok.
3.Cleopatra படதில் 'எங்கேயும் எப்போதும்' பாடலை தேவா மிக நன்றாக பயன்படுத்தியுள்ளார். இதுவும் Remixக்கு ஏற்ற பாடல். நல்ல ஒளிப்பதிவு ம்ற்றும் Mixing. தேவா தன் திறமையை நன்கு காண்பித்துள்ளார்.
4. தொட்டால் பூ மலரும் பாடலில் பழைய பாடல் வரிகளை வைத்து பாடலின் ராகத்தை மாற்றி கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. என்னால் இதை ஒரு முழுமையான Remix பாடல் என்று ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியவில்லை.
5. இதைப்போலவே தான் திருட்டுப்பயலே திருட்டுப்பயலே, இதில் பழையபாடலின் ராகத்தில் புதியப்பாடல் வரிகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பரத்வாஜ் நன்கு இசையமைதுள்ளார்.
